  General homework help
 
  • Education Planet - the Education Planet web guide contains a vast selection of links to websites for almost every subject imaginable.
  • Homework Elephant - a child-friendly site that includes information on how to find things out. Also has some useful Hints & Tips on how to do well with your homework.
  • Homework High - a great site from Channel Four - not only are there lots of links to useful websites, but you can email your homework queries to their experts.
  • Thinking Things - classroom and homework resources from Snaith Primary School in Yorkshire.
  • BBC Schools Online - fun learning resources for school and at home.
  • Learn.co.uk - managed by The Guardian, this is one of the largest learning resources on the web, useful for homework or revision.
  • GridClub - activities, puzzles and games. You have to register to join the clubs and discussion areas, but can go in and play games straight away!
  • Top Marks - another site with lots of useful links.
  • Schoolzone - this is a site useful for children and teachers.

  Revision Sites
 
  • BBC - Provides revision help for KS2, KS3, KS 4 and KS5. Covers all subjects through activities and tests.
  • Woodlands revision - Includes sample questions taken from past Key Stage 2 SATs papers, as well as a wide range of interactive tests/quizzes.
  • Samlearning examrevision - Provides sample materials for Key Stage 2 SATs, Key Stage 3, SATs, GCSE and As level.
  • Learn.co.uk - A general revision site for KS 2-KS5. Also provides the whole of the Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 papers for national curriculum tests for 2000, 2001 and 2002.
  • S-cool.co.uk Includes online GCSE revision guides for a wide range of subjects, including; Biology, Chemistry, English, Food Technology, French, Geography, German, Maths, PE and Physics.
  • Gcseguide.co.uk Provides a Maths GCSE Guide and English GCSE Guide.
  • Schoolsnet - GCSE Revision site
  • Icteachers.co.uk Includes a wide range of practice KS2 SATs questions.
  • Northwest Learning Grid - Provides advice on revision and exam techniques and many links to revision sites for all subject areas.

  • YoungGov - The Government's UK Online section for young people aged 11 to 18 (but interesting for younger children too!), with useful information on how government works and how you can get involved.

  • Biography.com - search the database for biographies of over 20,000 famous people, dead and alive.

  History
 
  • Ancient Egypt - A great site for anyone interested in Ancient Egypt. Packed with information and pictures of pyramids, tombs, mummies, gods and goddesses.
  • BBC Romans - find out more about the Romans in Britain - plus some fun games and activities.
  • Britannia.com - a gateway to British History - castles, houses, famous people and some useful timelines - excellent for homework.
  • Children of World War Two - another great history site from the BBC.
  • Guardian Century- A useful site to help you find out more about the main events of the twentieth century as described by the Guardian's journalists. You won't find much about how ordinary people lived but it's great for big events like the first moon landing or the Battle of Britain.
  • The Tudors - This site has information on people and life during the Tudor period of English history, as well as calendars, glossaries, maps, family trees, architecture and more. There are also pages on Tudor history in today's world, such as recent discoveries in the news, new books and movies.
  Maps
 
  • National Geographic Map Machine - a wide array of maps including atlases, flags and facts, maps of the night skies and satellite images - aimed at secondary level.

  Science
 
  • Kids Health - Find out how your body works! Do a body tour and have a really close look.

  Space
 
  • NASA Kids - a fun site where you can find out about the space programme, with lots of activities to join in.
  Volcanoes
 
  • Volcano World - lots of information on volcanoes, including details of current eruptions and ideas on how you can build a model volcano.
